Rick Mann

For the last 25 years, Rick Mann has been passionate about “equipping leaders for significant leadership.”  This personal mission statement has allowed him the opportunity to be a part of the lives of hundreds of emerging and executive leaders.

At the core of Rick’s work with leaders is helping them to build their personal and professional capacity for greater influence and impact.  Drawing on his experience with leaders and organizations in not-for-profit and for-profit, market-place and ministry, US and global settings, Rick’s greatest desire is to sit down with leaders, teams, and organizations and see how they can move forward in effectiveness. Rick serves GrowingLeadership as CEO, coach, and consultant.

Professional Experience
Rick currently serves as the President of Crown College (www.crown.edu) in the greater Minneapolis, MN area.  Prior to his time at Crown, he has served full-time as a faculty member, lead pastor, global team-leader, and consultant/coach.  His professional interests focus on leadership and organizational development, team productivity, board governance, technology, and global learning.

Education
Rick’s educational background includes an MA, PhD from Ohio State University, MDiv from Ambrose University College, and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.  The focus of his education has been around language, culture, leadership, and organizational learning.

Personal
Rick and Cheri have been married for more than 30 years.  Cheri’s professional work has been in the healthcare field most recently serving on Crown’s nursing faculty.  They have three married sons: Jason and Natalie live in Hong Kong where Jason serves as a senior analyst in the biotech industry.  Josh and Bex live in the greater Seattle area where Josh serves as a lead pastor.  Josh and Bex have our only grandchild, Mercy, who was born in Ethiopia.  Jeremy and Erin live in Chicago where Jeremy serves on the staff of Teach for America.  Rick and Cheri enjoy an exciting partnership in adventure sports.
